Thursday, 14 August 2025, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) will host the Empowerment and Recognition of Women in the Construction (ERWIC) Awards. These prestigious awards have become a significant annual highlight, recognising and celebrating the achievements of women in a sector long perceived as male-dominated.
With ongoing initiatives and deliberate efforts to encourage women to join and thrive in the construction industry, more women are today stepping into leadership and technical roles once considered exclusively "male," breaking barriers and defying outdated stereotypes.
This year's event will feature a keynote address by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr Dean Macpherson, underscoring the importance of diversity, empowerment, and equal opportunity within the construction sector.
Members of the media are invited to attend as follows:
Date: Thursday, 14 August 2025
Time: 18h00 – 22h00
Venue: Houghton Hotel, Johannesburg
