Mining Clients Gain Assurance from ATG Digital's ISO Status

ATG Digital has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, effective 29 May 2026. The company believes this milestone delivers assurance to mining companies that depend on secure, always-on digital infrastructure.

Mining operations run on connected systems: access control, visitor management, logistics, workforce administration, security monitoring. A weakness at any technology supplier can disrupt these systems or expose sensitive information. That risk doesn't stay contained. It reaches production, safety, and trust between a mine and its partners.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is in ISO’s own words, “the world's best-known standard for information security systems.” That specificity is now extended to ATG Digital. Information security is managed through documented policies, formal risk assessment, staff training, ongoing monitoring, and independent audit.

Mining clients need not look far to see concrete value:

  • Stronger supplier due diligence.
  • Clear accountability for information security.
  • Consistent handling of sensitive data.
  • Controlled access to systems and facilities.

Decisionmakers and policy enforcers are no strangers to strict governance, working in a heavily regulated sector such as mining. The Mine Health and Safety Act, The Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, ESG, and labour laws are only the beginning of mine business obligations.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 applies the same logic to information security: identify risks, implement controls, keep records, assign accountability, review performance. Something that mining stakeholders don't need explained.

Ask Valterra Platinum and Samancor Chrome—ATG Digital clients that have seen it first-hand.

A major South African platinum-group-metals producer with operations spanning South Africa and Zimbabwe, Valterra Platinum said: "…The team has always been responsive and willing to understand our operational needs, supporting us in strengthening our security processes and advancing our digital transformation journey."

Running mining, processing, and ferrochrome operations across the North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga, Samancor Chrome said: "Samancor … appreciates their [ATG Digital Team's] professional approach to out of the box solution architecture and commitment to service. Their responsiveness and support have contributed positively to our operational and logistics requirements…"

Certification followed a formal process. Gap analysis. Risk assessments. Internal audits. Management reviews. A Stage 1 documentation review. A six-and-a-half-day Stage 2 on-site audit. ATG Digital will now undergo annual surveillance audits and full recertification every three years.

For a sector where one security gap can ripple through production, logistics, and safety, that ongoing scrutiny is the point.
