The Body20 gym franchise is trading high-tech workouts for fitness with purpose with the launch of the 2025 Body20 Cares charity drive, a nationwide initiative that’s turning new memberships into meaningful support for children battling cancer.
For two months, 50% of all new joining fees across Body20’s 47 studios will go directly to CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa, in partnership with The Cows, a passionate community of fundraisers recognised for their cow-print gear and unstoppable energy at sporting events.
At the heart of this initiative are the families, parents, children, and caregivers, facing the daily realities of childhood cancer and blood disorders. CHOC provides vital emotional and practical support during one of life’s most difficult journeys, and every contribution helps ease the burden.
“This isn’t just a campaign,” says Johan Laas, Marketing Manager at Body20. “It’s a chance for our community to show up for those who need it most. Every time someone signs up, they’re not just starting a fitness journey, they’re joining a movement of care, compassion, and hope.”
Body20’s role may be in fitness, but its mission goes far deeper. With personalised Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS) training, certified coaches, and mental wellness support via October Health, Body20 has always championed holistic wellbeing. Now, that commitment is extending beyond its studio walls.
“Supporting CHOC and The Cows is a natural fit,” adds Laas. “Our members are already driven by health and purpose. This gives them a meaningful way to give back, not just to themselves, but to children and families who urgently need support.”
The Body20 Cares campaign proves that fitness can fuel more than just physical results. It can uplift lives, empower communities, and bring hope to those in need.
