Clico Boutique Hotel & Restaurant to host prestigious Chaîne des Rôtisseurs lunch

The month of April is an exciting one at Clico Boutique Hotel, Restaurant & Conferencing. As a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Clico has been selected to host the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs lunch on Sunday, 24 April 2022. Light jazz by the legendary Viwe and Thomas will be played over lunch. In addition, Clico is participating in South Africa’s Restaurant Week with a delectable menu throughout April.
Chaîne des Rôtisseurs (which means ‘brotherhood of roasters’) is a global community whose focus is brotherhood, friendship, camaraderie and sharing a passion for the culinary arts. Headquartered in Paris, the Chaîne has active members in 80 countries with South African gastronomes starting their own branch or bailliage in 1981.
The Johannesburg bailliage has selected Clico as the restaurant for their White Party themed April event which is a celebration of World Chaine Day. This notable honour has been welcomed wholeheartedly with a menu created exclusively for the lunch by Executive Chef Davies Moagi and wine pairings by the boutique hotel’s resident sommelier, Sandile Mavuso. The four-course menu includes:
Non-members are welcome to book their place at this prestigious lunch where they will be able to indulge alongside fellow foodies in the appreciation of fine cuisine. Members pay R870 per person and non-members pay R950 per person (this cost includes pairings for each dish, and a cash bar will be available for any other beverages). Fabulous live music will be provided by Viwe and Thomas.

Clico’s Restaurant Week special menu will run from 1 April to 1 May – Executive Chef Davies Moagi and Mixologist Sandile Mavuso have crafted a three-course menu featuring:
Starter
Pulled braised beef topped with pasta sheet parsnip purée, beetroot purée and Parmesan crisp
or
Roasted onion tart with goat’s cheese salad
Main
Grilled hake accompanied by savoury black rice, fish croquette and hollandaise sauce
or
Coffee smoked beef short rib with mustard and red onion marmalade mash, broccolini, finished with jus
or
Butternut and lentil strudel accompanied by char grilled baby onion, parsnip purée and Thai curry sauce
Dessert
Vegan mango and coconut panna cotta served with textures of mango
or
Flourless chocolate torte: frozen passionfruit, white chocolate mousse and pliable chocolate
Clico's Restaurant Week three-course dinner will cost R445 per person and the three-course lunch menu will cost R395 per person. Book your table here (online bookings only).

Clico offers nine comfortable and beautifully appointed rooms of various sizes (five king and four queen/twin-bedded). Tastefully finished in understated warm earthy browns, creams and soft greens, each room features a mini-bar, safe, flat-screen TV with DStv (satellite TV), a desk / dressing table and air-conditioning.
