Falke South Africa is pausing their sock run to bring you face masks
Submitted by: jen scholtz scholtzFalke, a locally designed and manufactured leading sock brand in South Africa, known for its functional and high-quality performance socks, has converted a section of their production facility at the Falke Hosiery Factory in Roslyn, Pretoria to manufacture face masks for the South African community during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Falke has paused their sock manufacturing during the national lockdown to comply with the regulations set by the government, and has stepped up their efforts to address the national shortage of face masks, keeping our nation top of mind. The production of +-60 000 non-surgical masks per week has commenced, the main focus is creating masks for ordinary South Africans and those working in essential services during the lockdown.
These are not medical masks but rather ear loop protective face masks that fully cover the nose and mouth. The masks are made from a nylon and elastane blended fabric, making them washable and reusable to protect you from airborne particles and liquid droplets. Masks should be used in a coordinated effort to reduce the risk of contamination or infection.
“We are taking the necessary steps to ensure workplace safety and maintain a safe environment for all our staff while remaining committed to serve our community,” says Martin Grobbelaar, General Manager of Falke South Africa.
The Falke face masks are available, in one size fits all, with a retail price of R20/single & R95/5pack and available online at www.falke.co.za, sportsa.co.za, futurelight.co.za as well as Cylnor Pharmacy Stellenbosch, Mopani Pharmacy Pretoria, Poobie Naidoo Sport Pietermaritzberg & KZN, Trailshed KZN, Vic Clothing Aliwal North and selected Cash & Carry, OK and Spar stores nationwide.
Additionally, Falke face masks will be available at Dischem stores nationwide from 20 May and Expedition North stores nationwide from 25 May.
