Brightwater Commons launches free ‘Cool Concerts’
Submitted by: Sarann BuckbyOn the last Sunday of July, August and September the Brightwater Commons is inviting all patrons to bring their blankets and loved ones to enjoy a free concert from 2 – 4pm.
Guests are invited to come armed with their blankets, while Brightwater’s retailers can satisfy a variety of tastes, from hamburgers and milkshakes, to fish & chips to Indian cuisine.
“You bring the blanket and we supply the banquet! With our variety of retailers, there is a wide selection of food and drink”, says Francois du Buisson, Marketing Manager at the Brightwater Commons.
The band, Simply 4 is one of the top-rated corporate and party bands in South Africa. Godfrey Ried, Nash Klaassen and Delia Davids are ready to get everybody in the mood to sing along. “We enjoy playing music from different eras, and it’s such a wonderful opportunity for us to play to the public in a great open-air venue”, says Godfrey, Simply 4 band member.
To keep the excitement going over the three months that the concerts will be taking place, each month the concerts will be themed to a specific era, which is bound to get everyone’s heads bopping and feet tapping. The first concert will take place on the 29th July in conjunction with the Toy Fair. For this launch event, be prepared to get moving and a shaking to the rocking Sixties and Seventies.
The concert on the 26th August will be held in conjunction with the Photos for Hope Initiative by the Sunflower Fund, to raise monies for Leukemia donor tests. This is a great opportunity for families and friends to spend a day out and come together for a good cause, all to beats of the eighties.
The last concert of this series will be held on the 30th September, nineties and naughties (2000’s), fans are welcomed to come and listen to covers of the best hits from the era.
