Design lovers and home enthusiasts, mark your calendars. This year's Decorex Cape Town promises a sensory feast of must-see attractions where visitors can immerse themselves in concepts reshaping how we live, work and play. Executive Creative Directors Alan Hayward and Garreth van Niekerk have curated a collection of feature attractions set to captivate all who attend from 5 to 8 June at the CTICC.
Capitec handmadeAFRICA + Design MRKT: If you missed the acclaimed handmadeAFRICA showcase at NIROX Sculpture Park, now’s your chance to experience a fresh iteration: a unique pop-up at Decorex Cape Town featuring more than 40 design brands. Plus, the all-new Design MRKT offers an irresistible experience where visitors can discover and take home coveted pieces of exceptional design, from statement furniture to conversation-starting décor objects.
The Sonos House of the Future by Planetworld: Step into the future of home entertainment in this immersive feature that redefines how we experience sound and design. Cutting-edge SONOS technology brings high-definition visuals and rich, cinematic sound to life. The experience continues in the interactive demo zone, where the latest SONOS speakers, headphones and audio innovations are ready to be explored, tested and admired. It's a space designed to inspire, engage and showcase the seamless blend of design and audio excellence.
Living with Blum: Kitchen dreams become reality, featuring award-winning visionaries Unique Kitchens, Studio Visual and RF Designs. This South Africa-wide competition challenged designers to push boundaries in maximising space, elevating aesthetics and expressing personal style, and these master craftspeople have created jaw-dropping cabinetry solutions that showcase how Blum's premium hardware transforms everyday spaces into works of art.
The Future of Work: Forget everything you thought you knew about offices. This showcase, presented by the trailblazing Neighbourgood founded by visionary Murray James Clark, explores Zen-inducing wellness zones, infinitely adaptable furniture systems and strategically placed coffee bars designed to spark those million-rand conversations. This dynamic space serves as the exhibition's VIP consultation hub and a glimpse into your future workspace.
Future Talks: Get ready for mind-expanding conversations in the Future Talks series, proudly partnered with VISI magazine. This unmissable programme of 14 CPD-accredited sessions brings together the boldest minds in design under the theme 'Design Makes the Future'. Hear industry titans debate the future of retail, discover the next wave of hospitality trends, and dive into landscape design, culinary innovation and the psychology of colour.
@home Cooking Studio: Ordinary kitchen demo this is not. The @home Cooking Studio, kitted out entirely with premium @home homeware and powered by the latest Samsung appliances, offers a theatrical culinary stage where top chefs conjure up mouthwatering dishes using fresh ingredients delivered by Mr D Food. The live theatre is run by the ever-creative team from Food Jams, bringing their signature energy to a sensory celebration of creativity, technique and flavour. Guests can get up close with food trends and experience cutting-edge kitchen design.
Designer Spotlight - Artep Studio: Discover the breathtaking work of Artep Studio, the Cape Town-based creative powerhouse led by Petra Maierhofer. Their approach marries simplicity with an obsessive appreciation for premium materials and time-honoured artisanal techniques, and spans bold statement pieces to subtly striking minimalist works.
Urban Living by Eco Furniture: Space-challenged urbanites will find inspiration in this ingenious exhibit, which demonstrates how to maximise every square centimetre without sacrificing style or comfort. Meander through a series of themed micro-apartments from student living to retirement spaces packed (but not cluttered) with clever space-saving furniture, multifunctional elements and sustainable locally produced pieces by Eco Furniture. These bespoke room sets have been brought to life by some of South Africa’s top designers, including Rene Forebay Designs, De Mooij Corporate Design and Mink Interiors.
Rialheim Ceramic Cafe: Texture and craft take centre stage in this sensory haven celebrating the art of ceramics, showcasing exquisite handmade tiles and décor pieces. This destination is all about experiencing the perfect marriage of design, craftsmanship and hospitality.
The Bubbly Bar: Step into indulgence at the heart of Decorex Africa 2025. Designed by Krineshen Reddy of Shalom Interiors, this show-stopping feature marries Africa’s rich design heritage with future-forward materials, from smartglass that shifts with the light to sustainably sourced timber and industrial brushed metals. With its tactile surfaces, dramatic lighting and thoughtfully curated elements, the Bubbly Bar offers glasses of bubbly and chocolate pearls in a fresh take on hospitality spaces that are both luxurious and deeply rooted in craft.
