3D printing launches at DionWired
Submitted by: NicolaTechnological innovations have broken boundaries again as 3D printing becomes a reality.
You’ve heard of 3D printing from newscasters and journalists, astonished at what they’ve witnessed. A machine reminiscent of the Star Trek Replicator, something magical that can create objects out of thin air. Well it’s no secret – 3D printing is a reality and DionWired will be one of the first SA retailers to bring it into the homes and offices of their discerning customers.
DionWired will be stocking the 3D printers in selected stores and online to the rest of the country from November this year.
So how does it work? 3D technology allows the rapid design and layer-by-layer printing of three-dimensional prototypes using plastic, metal, and polyurethane, depending on the printer – this means that your idea in the morning could be produced into matter by the afternoon.
DionWired Director, Andrew Jackson said, “As of November, DionWired will be offering their discerning customers the superior Cube® 3D Printer, winner of multiple design and performance awards. This printer was reviewed by US MAKE Magazine and was said to be the “Most reliable” and “Easiest to Use” in MAKE: Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing.”
The Cube printer is packed with consumer friendly features, contemporary design and has tablet like, touch screen ease of use. It is the first consumer 3D printer that is home certified and safe for children as young as eight years old. Consumer print ready and compact, this colour 3D printer fits in the living room and classroom, and weighing just over 4kgs, is extremely portable. Offering hours of 3D printing enjoyment on a rainbow of compelling colours, cube includes immediate access to over 30 free printable creations, many that can be personalised.
The Cube printer also comes with a membership to Cubify.com, the ultimate online 3D destination for consumers, artists and developers, offering a marketplace of things to 3D print at home. In addition, the site offers empowering creation tools from mobile and web apps to design software and cloud printing services that allow users to have things printed by 3D Systems and shipped to their doorstep.
Have the new Windows 8.1? The Cube 3D printer has Windows 8.1 support which allows the user to easily make 3D objects with their PCs. Be inspired and allow yourself to create anything imaginable with the great new software of Windows 8.1 and the Cube 3D printer available at selected DionWired stores.
This is the first 3D printer to be available at DionWired. “3D printing has a wide appeal, attracting everyone, from the hobbyist to the gadget centric enthusiast. This really is a 3D printer for everyone. Being the leader in innovation and trends, we have sourced one of the best 3D printers available on the market so that the DionWired customer can be one of the first to experience this printing phenomenon at its very best”, added Jackson.
