Shamwari Game Reserve Beach Clean Up

May 2017 - As part of the many celebratory initiatives Shamwari Game Reserve is creating for its 25th Anniversary, 29 May 2017, saw the Shamwari Game Reserve team, staff, management and students from the Shamwari Conservation Experience, come together to do a beach clean-up at Humewood Beach in Port Elizabeth.

It was Shamwari’s way of bringing awareness to one and all of the vital necessity to minimise our use of plastics as well as putting a spotlight on general consideration for littering Mother Nature’s back yard.

Comments Group General Manager, Joe Cloete: “It’s everyone’s responsibility to be cognisant of recycling, reusing and upcycling in our everyday lives and to conserve a vanishing way of life. When confronted with litter on the beach, which has been washed up on shore it reiterates the urgency of the situation.”

Humewood Beach is South Africa’s oldest blue flag beach and is enjoyed by families for relaxing and recreational activities.

Just one of the many amazing tourism spots to enjoy in the Nelson Mandela Bay area.
