The State of the World Forum will take place in February 2010, in Washington DC and Krenz plans to be there with his film crew. “I want to document the Forum for the people of South Africa, to inform us of the decisions made at the Forum so that we can all be involved as active participants. This is our chance to take our place in a global initiative aimed at making a real difference to our future,” he explains.
To get there, Alexander is auctioning some of his best known art. Works from his collection “The I of the Eye” will be up for grabs.
Krenz adds, “I have researched global integration intensely for the past 4 years and I feel extremely passionate about it. It interrogates a shift of power from West to East, and from state to people, emphasising the need for individual recognition and growth as keys to a sustainable and harmonious future. It’s time to put our exaggerated egos aside.”
The Forum aims to bring people together from around the world to work collaboratively to green our economies and develop more sustainable lifestyles. It is the second biggest gathering of world leaders outside of the UN, bringing together some of the world’s top thinkers and philosophers, to consider the natural way that humans evaluate challenges and develop responses.
Founded in 1995 by Jim Garrison with Mikhail Gorbachev, profound leaders such as Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher and Desmond Tutu have all been a part of the Forum’s extraordinary dialogue.
