The problem arises out of the fact that with finance and trading being such male-dominated sectors, it can be difficult for women to even get the chance to be seen in the first place, However, there are women who have pushed through the glass ceiling and become powerhouse names in the aforementioned industries, not just within major companies, but individually, doing away with the notion that trading is just a “man’s game”. In fact, trading in Forex and other markets is now more accessible than it’s ever been.
This has opened up trading and finance to female investors. The traditionally male industry is no longer clogged with men, and the world is finding out that women can and will rise to the top. There are already some very successful female investors and traders, who have proved they are just as capable as any man of being successful, raising the bar and making their money work for them.
One of the most successful women in finance & entrepreneurship today is Reabetswe Shongwe, Born in Botswana and raised in South Africa, Midrand. She comes from a middle-class family, with a father who always reminded her to strive for independence and a mother who always taught her to put her faith in God in whatever journey she was taking.
Reabetswe who was once a sales agent in a retail industry, she found success in the trading of currencies and entrepreneurship, her success unfolded when she decided to call a quit in one of the biggest retail giants and joined W.I.F.E ( Women in Forex & Entrepreneurship) a division under Trade4africa.org.
Women In Forex and Entrepreneurship is a Financial Transformation Platform for Women, which aims to help them become financially independent using the largest financial market in the world Forex, It inevitably allows women to use the profits acquired through Forex Market to be invested in avenues and assets, such as Property and other Businesses.
“I was tired of the long hours, difficult clients, and low wages, I wanted financial freedom for myself, family and my community" she was quoted
Reabetswe worked very hard than any other women in the organisation, she was then given an opportunity to lead and represent W.I.F.E division as a living testimony, a born leader, a woman of power and a royal Queen as witnessed through her hard work.
"Women are the architects of our families and communities. Most women face difficulties especially single mothers, Women in Forex & Entrepreneurship flatform can be used as an advantage to be financially independent. I believe other men take advantage of women cause they depend on them financially. We want to help our women in the society especially young ladies that depends on men that its possible without them" she added
Her being is centred around making a success in her personal life and professional life. That is evident in the work she has put in overtime as a W.I.F.E representative and a brand herself. She continues to believe in the philosophy of the law of attraction "if you believe something is yours rest assured it shall be yours"
Not only is she a family woman and a business savvy Queen, she is an arts enthusiast as well. From being a model down to being a choreographer in the arts of dance. She is a firm believer in being the best in everything you partake in, that has led her to be a success story for many.
She still continues to grow as an individual and still serves as an inspirational story for those around her and those striving to be powerful women.
