Hout Bay Founder's Club Launches on Heritage Day to Strengthen Local Economy and Legacy

HOUT BAY, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA – 26 September 2025 – Coinciding with South Africa’s Heritage Day, local consulting brand agency the ASK Group has announced the official launch of the Hout Bay Founder's Club, a new initiative aimed at strengthening the hyper-local economy by fostering a collaborative business community.

Dubbed "The business network for the Bay," the Club provides a private, vetted community for Hout Bay's founders, entrepreneurs, and SMME owners. Its primary objective is to drive local Business-to-Business (B2B) procurement, create opportunities for collaboration, and build a resilient hyper-local economy where neighbours support neighbours.

The choice to launch on Heritage Day was deliberate, framing the initiative as a commitment to building a new kind of local legacy. The Club aims to protect and enhance Hout Bay’s unique character by ensuring its economic future is driven and sustained from within the community itself.

“Launching on Heritage Day is meaningful because a community’s most powerful legacy is its ability to thrive from within,” says Lucinda Dixon, Co-Founder of the ASK Group. “The Founder's Club is our commitment to that legacy. It’s a space where local business owners can support each other, not just for commercial benefit, but to collectively contribute to the upliftment of the Hout Bay economy and community.”

The Club is administered by the ASK Group's non-profit arm, The ASK Foundation. In line with this community-first ethos, there is no membership fee to join. Instead, members are encouraged to contribute through donations to the Foundation and by volunteering for local upliftment programmes such as mentorship days and community clean-ups.

Membership is open to founders and owners of registered businesses operating primarily in Hout Bay. Interested parties are invited to apply for admission via the official Hout Bay Founder's Club Facebook Group.
