Jehovah's Witnesses Release Bible Perspective Article on Women's Safety Amid Global Violence Crisis
Violence Against Women, What Does the Bible Have to Say?
Despite legislation and initiatives aimed at protecting women, many continue to face violence and abuse. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced physical and/or sexual violence during their lifetime.
In South Africa, violence against women remains a significant societal concern. Recent crime statistics and widely publicized incidents have highlighted the ongoing need to support and protect women. The tragic killings of several women in the East Rand area of Gauteng have also drawn renewed attention to this issue and its impact on families and communities
“This is a global crisis that affects not just women, but also families and communities,” said Mzamo Goloda, spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Women’s safety should be a concern to all.”
In view of ongoing concerns regarding the safety of women, Jehovah’s Witnesses continue to make available the article “Women’s Safety—The Bible’s Perspective” on jw.org, the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The article is a free resource for women who have experienced violence and are seeking comfort, healing, and support.
Using practical Bible principles and comforting scriptures, the article addresses God's view of women and highlights the hope the Bible offers for an end to violence and injustice.
“The Bible offers so much hope for victims of violence,” said Goloda. “We hope this article helps women feel cherished, valued, and supported.”
