CoreXalance awards Credit Professionals at Year-End Function

Submitted by:

CoreXalance celebrated another successful year by hosting a year-end function and awards ceremony for the financial departments of the media owners they most frequently do business with. The function was held on the 5th of November 2010, at the African-themed restaurant, Moyo, in Melrose Arch.

According to the CEO of CoreXalance, Mandy Kayser, they felt the need to award the credit and financial departments. “These departments so often get left out of social gatherings and rarely get awarded for their hard work and contribution to their company’s success”. The awards were divided into two main groups, those for companies, and those for individuals.

The company categories where:

  1. On time every time – given to the company that is on time, every time in their response to critical correspondence, reports and questions from CoreXalance. Ads24 walked away with the first place, followed by Caxton Magazines (second place) and Independent Newspapers (third place).
  2. – given to companies who limit the risk of bad debt by resolving queries, passing necessary credits quickly and collecting debt well. Here Primedia @Home won first place, with Primedia Broadcasting in second place and Condé Nast Independent Magazines in third.

The criteria of the above mentioned awards where tallied up, to choose the overall winner of the Credit Excellence Company Award for 2010. This coveted award went to Caxton Magazines.

The Individual Credit Professional Awards celebrates the great work individuals do for their credit departments. The winner was Elke Pretorius, from Ads24. Beverley Vink, from Capro was in second place, followed by Shereen Peter, from Primedia Broadcasting. Meagan Dowman, from Associated Magazines, received a certificate in this category, with honourable mention for her work this year.

Mr. Pat Green, credit manager with Avusa and also the Director of the MCC Board, was awarded the Thoroughbred Credit Professional award for his long term involvement and support.

During the evening, guests were treated to a range of African dishes, while enjoying various forms of African entertainment. These included face painting, a hand washing ceremony and mbira players.
