Aura Social Launches South Africa's First Freelance Marketplace with Built-In ZAR Escrow Protection

Aura Social, a South African technology company, today announced the launch of its freelance marketplace platform designed specifically for the South African market.
The platform connects businesses with verified South African freelancers through a secure escrow payment system that processes all transactions in South African Rand, eliminating the currency conversion fees and USD pricing that have long disadvantaged local freelancers on global platforms.
Unlike international platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr, which charge freelancers up to 20 percent commission and require USD payments that lose value on conversion to ZAR, Aura Social charges zero commission to freelancers.
The platform's 12.5 percent fee is charged exclusively to the client, meaning freelancers receive exactly what they quoted.
All payments are processed through PayFast, South Africa's leading payment gateway, and deposited directly into South African bank accounts.
