One Technologies looks to take on International Tech Giants in SA Market
Submitted by: MyPressportal TeamA Level 1 B-BBBEE IT services business has announced the launch of ONE Technologies, a one-stop hardware service provider offering fully customisable, locally designed, globally sourced and nationally supported laptops at affordable prices, with local after-sales support for a seamless transition.
Johannesburg 19 September 2023 Created in response to a gap in the market and the high-cost of imported, big-brand hardware, ONE Technologies is driven by the belief that while technology opens doors to economic opportunity and job creation, international prices are prohibitive to many local buyers and businesses.
By offering a range of locally designed laptops, which are internationally sourced through an Intel-certified factory and offering them at a price point that starts at R11,000 for the entry-level Easy Access, and tops out at R17,000 for the high-end, high-spec Powerhouse, ONE Technologies aims to help South African individuals and businesses reach their full potential through affordable access to superior technology.
“As CEO, I grappled with how we could compete with international tech players to achieve our vision of unlocking South Africa’s potential through technology. It is from this that the idea of One Technologies was born,” says Siddika Osman.
Osman is CEO of ONE Technologies, and parent company Nkgwete Solutions, a 67% black-women owned ISO-certified business with a national presence and 10-year history providing and managing outsourced IT services and solutions to SEOs and corporations. Nkgwete currently service 30,000 computers across South Africa and have a 50-seater call centre offering tech support.
Now ONE Technologies is offering fully customisable laptops, with superior quality components and the potential to be branded and delivered pre-loaded with company-specific software, operating systems, specialised platforms, security, device tracking and more, at competitive rates, with six-hour’s after-sales support countrywide. Training is one of the many outsourced services also available.
“I believe there is huge potential in South Africa that is untapped due to lack of access to technology, training and after-sales support,” she added. “We believe technology enables progress, and everyone should have easy, affordable access to it.”
Osman, a pioneer herself in the early days of technology services, is particularly concerned with empowerment and creating opportunity within her industry. Her diverse workforce includes a 60% women management team and 40% women on the tech support team in an industry dominated by men.
They also take on 20 interns a year for training and invaluable professional work experience, essential when seeking work in the field, and a community outreach programme actively promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, as well as opportunities within the IT sector.
“We have now sourced superior-specification hardware at highly competitive prices, which means that we can unlock the potential of the people of Mzansi by making reliable tech accessible, affordable and available to all.”
When Nkgwete IT Solutions first opened its doors in 2013, managing IT outsourced services and solutions, they were a team of 45. Today Nkgwete has a team of 100, it supports 30,000 computers nationwide and has a reputation for integrity, delivery and exceptional service to some of South Africa’s best known brands.
It is off this proven track record, that ONE Technologies is launching.
