Mann Made Media Hosts Hybrid Year-End Broadcasts in Sandton

Brands and agencies preparing hybrid broadcasts, virtual events and studio shoots for the last three months of 2026 can now book time at the Sandton production campus of Mann Made Media. The Johannesburg brand experience agency has produced events and content since 2003. Its Wendywood site has two green screen studios ready for production, a broadcast control setup and an in-house production floor, so clients can record, stream and finish content in one place. The offer comes as October opens South Africa's year-end season of conferences, awards and launches.

Most organisations now stage their key moments for two audiences at once: guests in the room and viewers following online. A camera and a laptop are not enough to serve both well. The job calls for dependable power, fast connectivity, a trained crew and a set that holds up on screen. Mann Made built its studio offering around those practical needs and linked it directly to the agency's event, video and animation teams.

A closer look at the Wendywood campus

The campus is at 34 Bowling Avenue, Wendywood, Sandton. Its two premium green screen studios are set up for fast keying. That makes them a good fit for virtual sets, presenter-led explainers and recorded keynotes that will later be placed into branded environments. During a booking, Mann Made provides the people who run master control: professional technical directors, sound engineers, camera operators and autocue specialists.

Anyone who has watched a live stream drop at a critical moment will notice two infrastructure details. First, an uninterruptible power supply keeps the studios running and switches automatically to backup generators, which Mann Made says is meant to guarantee zero workflow downtime. Second, dedicated fibre lines deliver up to 1 Gbps to keep streams stable, carry remote feeds and keep live distribution clean.

On site there is a client lounge, green rooms, make-up stations and serviced office space. Clients can add a full live broadcast control room running vMix or Tricaster, custom 3D virtual set designs, post-production and editing suites, motion design support, and catering for executive hospitality. Outside crews and creative teams are welcome to work there. Mann Made's own staff stay with the core infrastructure to oversee technical safety.

From the venue floor to the livestream

The studio is only one part of the business. As an event management company, Mann Made handles strategy, concept, pre-production, the event days themselves and post-event measurement. Each project opens with a deep dive into what the event needs and what it should achieve. That leads to a detailed guest experience presentation and a master schedule, and the event content is then repackaged into a post-event campaign. The agency tracks success with tools such as surveys sent through a custom eventing app.

Past projects show how the process works in practice. Mann Made engineered and delivered the first Singularity University South Africa Summit and has produced it every year since, hybrid virtual editions included. Its homepage describes a SingularityU event at the Sandton Convention Centre that hosted more than 1,500 attendees and added a custom metaverse component. The site also lists the Yoco Next hybrid product launch at The Playground in Johannesburg, story-led executive presentations for MTN's Global Leadership Gathering at Gallagher Convention Centre, a two-day unconference for SA Future Trust with more than 30 sessions, and the kit launch campaign for Kaizer Chiefs and Kappa.

Editing and motion under one roof

The agency owns its whole production chain, so footage shot in the studios can be edited, graded and finished in-house. Mann Made's video production service focuses on helping people feel at ease on camera: coaching speakers, shaping the story and keeping the process predictable. Published packages start with short CEO messages, expert interviews, testimonials and internal training videos and go up to brand stories, website hero videos and event highlight reels. Custom cinematic work, such as television commercials and flagship brand films, is quoted separately.

For live events, Mann Made also works as an animation studio that creates motion design for stages and screens. Its event animation covers animated logo reveals, ambient stage wallpapers, lower thirds and speaker titles, segment openers and transitions, branded countdown clocks, sponsor loops, winner reveal animations and animated infographics, in 2D or 3D. During a hybrid broadcast these elements keep the brand in view for the room and for online viewers. Clean transitions also stop the programme from stalling between speakers.

Why October bookings count

For many South African companies, October is when year-end planning becomes production. Leadership summits, awards evenings, product launches and year-end galas tend to bunch up between now and early December, and nearly all of them now involve recorded or streamed content. Studio time, virtual set preparation and motion graphics packages all need lead time, so organisations that book in October have more room to rehearse and polish.

Working from a studio can also lower risk. If executive messages, award segments or product explainers are recorded in a controlled setting before the event, the live programme relies less on everything going right on the night. Pre-recorded pieces can slot into the run sheet, and the live segments stream from the same campus with backup power and fibre in place.

Machines and people working together

Mann Made says its model combines AI-augmented workflows with human-led delivery. Its services include AI video, AI automation and software development, plus a robot experience offering for trade shows, exhibitions, keynotes and corporate events. The agency presents these tools as a faster route through storyboarding, concept prototyping and content creation, while experienced crews take care of the physical production work on site.

The company says it has more than 50 skilled professionals on an in-house production floor and lists locations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Dubai. It describes itself as pairing the personal touch of a family business with the infrastructure of an established agency, and it owns the value chain from creative concept through fabrication, logistics and post-production.
