Mitch Bowker Officially Steps into CCO Role at Point
Submitted by: Michelle CaveMitch Bowker has officially been appointed to the role of Chief Creative Officer at Point, a global marketing investment partner agency working with the world’s most recognised brands in 13 offices across 26 countries in Africa and the Middle East. The seasoned professional joined Point as an acting Chief Creative Officer in July 2023, serving in a parallel role as Chief Executive Officer for Point Iconic (formerly Iconic Collective), Point’s strategic and creative agency.
Bowker’s reputation in the corporate world is built on his work with major global tech brands like Samsung and Nokia. His extensive experience in marketing management is a valuable asset at Point, where the team’s philosophy is that marketing should drive business growth in meaningful ways. The team sees clients’ marketing budgets as strategic investments that yield a return on investment.
“Our primary goal is to ensure we create work that is not just impactful, but also meaningful,” Bowker states. His commitment to delivering high-quality work is driven by a desire to improve clients’ bottom lines, a refreshing approach in an industry often criticised for prioritising agency profits over client success.
Point aims to use new technologies, systems and tools to scale a client’s business. Bowker adds, “Digital is central to our ability to deliver value – not simply cost savings. We continue to push boundaries that align with our client’s objectives and ours to ensure we always have the best solutions available that create effective, efficient and ethical impact,” Bowker notes.
Bowker’s strategic vision aligns with the company’s commitment to innovation, bridging the gap between strategy and creativity. He explains, “Strategy and creativity can no longer exist in isolation. The pace of our industry is too rapid. We can create something beautiful from a creative standpoint. Still, the creativity is wasted if we don’t deliver it to the right audience with the right strategy. The gap between these two is filled with a clear understanding of our mission and a commitment to integrate these two areas into our solutions seamlessly.”
Group CEO of Point, Dermot Latimer, shares, “Bowker’s promotion underscores his dedication to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. We are a people-first business and lead by serving those around us. We drive excellence, innovation and creativity in all that we do. These are Point’s values, and we embody them. His leadership approach prioritises teamwork and a deep understanding of the problems we’re solving, ensuring that solutions are not only innovative but also effective.”
Central to Bowker’s strategy is the E3 Model – Efficient, Effective, and Ethical – which serves as the cornerstone of Point’s approach to client solutions. “In all that we do, we understand how important it is to ensure we provide solutions that create possibilities for our customers. When we achieve in these three areas, the clients’ business performance can only increase,” Bowker asserts, reinforcing his commitment to ethical client solutions.
Bowker’s professional journey is driven by a passion for solving challenges and connecting the dots to find effective solutions. His belief in the ethical service of the advertising industry and inspiration drawn from his team’s strategic, creative, and detail-oriented abilities will undoubtedly shape Point’s future successes.
