Dr Khumalo, Ann Nurock, Grey’s Executive Creative Director, Mike Barnwell and Carolyn Carter, President and CEO Grey Group Europe, Middle East & Africa, were actively involved in the recruitment of Byrne. Byrne spent nine years at Jupiter Drawing Room Johannesburg, firstly as Head of Planning, followed by seven years as Deputy Managing Director.
