Seafood Wednesday new addition to Festival line-up

The ever-popular Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival will once again see the beautiful Garden Route town bursting at the seems as holiday-makers make their way there from 1 – 10 July 2016. This year, there’s an added activity to ensure revellers get their fill of what the town is most famous for!
Seafood Wednesday, set to take place 6 July, gives sea-food lovers another chance to indulge in all manner of sea food – oysters included – just in case you they need another one!
How it works:
Restaurant walk-around The event will kick off with with a seafood walk-around at participating restaurants during the day. Expect the likes of delicious East Coast sole from 34 Degrees South and The Bell’s pan-fried Cape yellowtail with salsa verde and new potatoes – and that’s just to begin...
Seafood braai competition At 5pm the fun moves to the Festival Pavilion for the SASSI Seafood Braai where locals go head-to-head to determine the best braaier in Knysna. This year you can be part of the judging panel, so make sure you get your vote in.
Oyster Shucking and Eating competition This is one hotly contested title and have to see these contestants in action!
Flavours of Knysna presented by Tabasco Here local eateries will compete for a host of oyster awards and with round 800 oysters being prepared on the night, this is one event oyster lovers can’t afford to miss! Also on offer will be a three-course Tabasco-inspired tasting menu, wine-tastings, a bar and entertainment, making it a great night out.
- Cost: R20
- Festival Pavilion (includes all activity outside of Flavours of Knysna event): R20 per person; children under 12 free of charge.
