PRETORIA, South Africa, June 14, 2017/APO/ --
President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 15 June 2017, visit the communities of Knysna in the Garden Route and Plettenburg Bay areas that have been adversely affected by the recent raging fires that caused total devastation, destruction of property, displacement of people and loss of life.
The unprecedented devastation was visited on the residents of the Western Cape as a result of the severe weather and heavy storms that preceded the fires.
Early last week, the President dispatched humanitarian and other support to all the affected areas, especially the poor communities, which was coordinated through the NATJOC Disaster Management, working with the Western Cape Provincial Government and Provincial Disaster Management teams.
President Zuma will be accompanied by a number of Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers whose departments have already begun with relief and assistance services to the affected communities.
