SafariStays Launches Cape Town-Based Online Travel Agency for Independent Safari Travellers Across Southern and East Africa
SafariStays (https://www.safaristays.com), a new Cape Town-based online travel agency, has officially opened bookings for a curated portfolio of safari lodges, tented camps, guesthouses and self-catering houses across Southern and East Africa.
The platform is built for a specific kind of traveller: the one who wants to design their own African journey rather than join a packaged group tour.
Founded in Cape Town, SafariStays fills a long-standing gap in the African travel market — a modern, independent booking platform that combines live availability, local-currency pricing, and a curated selection of owner-run lodges with the personal service of a traditional travel agency.
Currently Taking Bookings
SafariStays is currently taking live bookings in Namibia and South Africa, with a growing footprint across Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Kenya.
Over 700 properties have been onboarded to date across the six countries, ranging from remote bush camps in the Okavango Delta and the Serengeti, to gravel-road self-drive lodges in Namibia, to coastal and winelands stays across South Africa.
Every lodge on the platform is hand-picked.
Lodges that do not meet SafariStays’ standards do not make it onto the platform.
Built For The Independent Traveller
Unlike group-tour operators, SafariStays exists for travellers who want to choose their own lodges, set their own pace, and travel with their own group of friends or family.
The platform supports self-drive itineraries through Namibia and South Africa, fly-in safaris across Botswana and Tanzania, and hybrid overland-and-air journeys through Zimbabwe and Kenya.
Bookings are offered in two ways: instant confirmed bookings on lodges with live calendar integrations, and a request-to-book enquiry flow for exclusive, remote or partner-managed properties, typically quoted within 24 hours.
Conservation Built In
SafariStays has committed 5% of booking profits to local wildlife conservation funds in each country it operates in.
The contribution is built into pricing rather than added as an optional extra.
