Bookings Soekershof Walkabout via Tourism Bureau Montagu

Submitted by: Soekershof Walkabout
{pp}Montagu. Representatives of Montagu/Ashton Tourism Association and Soekershof Walkabout signed a ‘Memorandum of Agreement’ this morning in which is stipulated that the tourism bureau in Montagu will be responsible for the booking of guests to Soekershof Walkabout.
The agreement fits into Soekershof’s aim to limit the accessibility to pre-paid bookings only and bookings via so called ‘privileged accommodation’ with special activity-arrangements for their guests. Within a period of 3 years, but most probably earlier, Soekershof will solely be accessible for guests of approximately 15 ‘privileged accommodations’ in a radius of 100 km, pre-paid bookings via the tourism bureau in Montagu and direct bookings via the own booking system. “The choice for the Montagu/Ashton Tourism Bureau is very obvious for us”, says co-owner Yvonne de Wit of Soekershof Walkabout. “Since the opening in December 2002 we gathered market information, partly via feedback of our guests, and discovered that this tourism bureau is not only adequately equipped for bookings but also provides their visitors with correct independent information”.

Extensive market research, partly by 2 students of Northlink College and partly by 2 students of the University in Cape Town also indicated, independent from each other, that the tourism bureau in Montagu is the logical choice; also because the experience it gained with the bookings for the tractor rides. Local accommodation can host more than 2000 guests is the secondary reason.

Although Soekershof Walkabout is open from Wednesday to Sundays between 8 AM and 4 PM pre-booked tours start at 11 AM (during Summer period 10 AM). For visitors of the Montagu/Ashton Tourism Bureau it is also possible to pre-book a Dutch picnic of R 40.00 pp consisting of breadrolls ham and cheese, an apple, bottle of water and coffee/tea. The admission fee is R 40.00 pp >12 yrs, R 20.00 pp <12 yrs and R 0.00 pp for non-walking children. From August 1 of this year the admission fee for the 12+ yrs will go up to R 60.00 pp. From August 1 also there will be a discount for larger groups (>9 people).   Contact Details:Klaas Voogds West, P.O.
