Booking Pirates on the increase
Submitted by: Ron van Vuren{pp}Without realizing it, the hospitality industry has allowed a mass of \'Booking Pirates\' to invade, control and charge them for their own Internet bookings. There are a few credible reservation portals on the Internet, but the majority is only there to hijack a guest on his way, searching for accommodation using the Net.
Take any well-known establishment and try to search for a direct link to their own website and you will find a wall of pretentious advertisements offering information and booking facilities for the misfortunate establishments. Many reputable Travel agent and Tour operators are suffering the consequences of this trend together with the establishments while these 'Pirates' are running off with the loot. However, there is hope...LodgeControl SA has launched the first of a range of FREE accommodation portals to assist guests with finding accommodation in South Africa, InnSouthAfrica (www.innsouthafrica.co.za) and TheGuestHouseDirectory (www.theguesthousedirectory.co.za) Any recognized establishment can list all their contact details as well as a summary of their facilities on the site at no charge and visitors are guided directly to the establishment. Future plans include a very low cost payment gateway for online payments and VOIP facilities for guest convenience."We have been servicing the industry for almost 20 years." says Ron van Vuren from LodgeControl "We have an inherent interest in the well-being of the establishments and we are saddened to see that businesses who have no interest in the industry, other than to slice off a piece of the commission pie for themselves, penetrate and effect the industry so seriously."Ron adds, "We need support from the industry to ensure the success of these projects. So far, we have had a tremendous response from establishments we have approached for listings. Some have even referred associate establishments to us."Ron continues "..Yes, we expect opposition to this move. These guys (the 'Booking Pirates') will not let loose so easily. They will have all kinds of very convincing reasons for doing what they are doing, but I believe we can make a difference and we will."LodgeControl prides itself in its customer satisfaction standards. Their reservation software, by the same name, caters for the small to medium accommodation establishments and is back by 20 years of experience in the industry.Contact Details:Ron van VurenLodgeControl+27 (0)44 8841822 (Office hours)+27 (0)82 5465802 (anytime)ron@lodgecontrol.comwww.lodgecontrol.com
