On November 12th, 2025, the challenge officially begins for winemakers from France and around the world. They will be able to register online to present their best white, rosé, and red wines — still or sparkling — in these two major international wine events to be held on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the Strasbourg Convention Centre.
The Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg – 28th Edition A world reference for over a quarter of a century, the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg is the only international competition exclusively dedicated to the full diversity of white wines worldwide. Organized by Strasbourg Events, it has been under the patronage of the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) for 16 years and a member of VINOFED, the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions, for 12 years.
New prestigious endorsement: in 2026, the competition will, for the first time, be patronized by the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE), like the 14 other VINOFED competitions. Registration opens November 12th, 2025 www.mondial-vins-blancs.com
13 competition categories They showcase the excellence of major white grape varieties and terroirs from around the world while reflecting emerging trends: Chardonnay, Chenin, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon, Sylvaner, Viognier, Other White Varieties, Blends, and De-Alcoholized / No-Low Wine.
A world first among the 2026 distinctions: the “Franc de Pied” Award In addition to the Grand Gold, Gold, and Silver medals, the jury of 60 international experts will also award the following Special Trophies and Prizes: The Grand Jury Prize (Best Wine of the Competition) 2 VINOFED Prizes for the Best Still Dry Wine and Best Brut Sparkling Wine Dry Wine Trophy for each of the 13 categories “Favorite” distinctions for: • Best “Franc de Pied” Wine (a world first) • Best White Wine with Maceration (Orange Wine) • Best Indigenous Grape Variety • Best Still and Sparkling De-Alcoholized Wine • Best First Participation
What is a “Franc de Pied” wine? A “Franc de Pied” wine comes from ungrafted vines that remain on their original roots, unlike the vast majority of vineyards replanted after the phylloxera crisis. Winners of the Special Prizes will benefit from international media coverage.
The European Red & Rosé Wine Contest – 1st edition Driven by its commitment to innovation, Strasbourg Events launches in 2026 the European Red & Rosé Wine Contest, the first competition entirely dedicated to red and rosé wines from the 46 member countries of the European Union and the Council of Europe. This unique event celebrates the diversity and evolution of European tastes: lighter reds, more structured rosés, and de-alcoholized wines are experiencing strong growth.
