Carling Black Label Continues Proud Legacy With SA Rugby in Currie Cup 2025 Campaign

The Currie Cup 2025 continues its annual tradition. Talent from across the country's unions will take centre stage, showcasing the talent and potential brewing within their respective squads. For Carling Black Label, this tournament represents more than sponsorship — it's an investment in further fermenting the foundation of the South African rugby excellence, with the partnership continuing the decades-long association between SAB and SA Rugby. This demonstrates Carling Black Label's commitment to South African sport and community development through rugby excellence, says the brewery.
"This champion brand continues to sponsor the Currie Cup because this domestic tournament gives Carling Black Label the opportunity to share its brand purpose with South African rugby fans," says Kerryn Greenleaf, Carling Black Label Brand Director. "We use their passion for the game to help recognise and reward the 'Champion Within' themselves and to showcase that the Carling Currie Cup is truly where 'Champions are Made'. Like crafting the international award-winning beer, developing rugby champions requires the right ingredients, patience and passion."
Having established themselves as master brewers of champion players across the country, Carling Black Label is committed to respresent rugby. Through this partnership with SA Rugby, the brand aims to reignite passion for domestic rugby and highlight the crucial role the Currie Cup plays in developing future Springboks, says the brewery.
The Premier Division kicked off on Friday, 25 July when the Airlink Pumas host the Suzuki Griquas in the opening fixture. Eight teams will compete in the Premier Division, with this year marking a significant milestone as the Sanlam Boland Cavaliers return to top-flight domestic rugby for the first time since 2016. The tournament runs through to the final on Saturday, 20 September, concludes the brewery.
