Radio Host Tracey Lange Mobilises Public Support for Stranded BT Football Academy Team in Spain

The athletes aged 13 to 18 travelled to Spain to compete in the Donosti Cup in San Sebastian. However, their return home was disrupted when their flights were not booked despite families investing significant amounts for the tour. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Lange stepped in to garner support for the stranded kids through her social media platforms and on Kfm 94.5, says the radio station.

With assistance from the local community, the necessary funds have been raised to secure their return flights and have been booked within a day of her first call for support, adds the radio station.

"This experience serves as a powerful reminder of the strength of community and those who step up without hesitation," says Tracey Lange. "To everyone in South Africa, South Africans abroad and the locals in Lisbon who helped keep the team in high spirits, thank you for making this happen."

Lange extends her thanks to several key individuals and organisations that are contributing to this effort, including Pastors Dane and Tersia Mesane from Christ Culture Church, Melisha Moodley for logistical support, Ceu Dias for negotiations with TAAG Airlines and the TAAG team: Nicole Taylor and Suzanna Ribeiro. She also acknowledges the many others who are involved in making this possible. The initiative coincides with the conclusion of the 'Tracey Lange Cares' winter campaign, says the radio station.

Hennie Myburgh, Station Manager at Kfm 94.5, concludes, "Tracey's commitment to uplifting our communities is truly inspiring. Her efforts in bringing the BT Football Academy team home exemplify the heart of Kfm 94.5 and our dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of South Africans."
