Goteborg Film Festival Appoints Erik Toresson Hellqvist As New Head OF Marketing And Communications
Written by: Media Update Editor Save to Instapaper
The position includes both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, with a focus on strengthening public engagement, visibility and brand relations, says the festival.
Hellqvist comes from an agency background with extensive experience in marketing and PR. Since 2020, he has held several roles within the Göteborg Film Festival organisation — as a Project Manager in the Marketing Department, a Content Editor at Draken Film and most recently as Press Officer for the 2025 edition of Göteborg Film Festival, adds the festival.
"The recruitment process made it clear that Erik, with his deep passion for film combined with broad experience in communication, marketing and audience engagement, is the right person for this role. He is perceptive, full of ideas and has a strong ability to turn vision into action — qualities that will be crucial as we continue to strengthen and develop the work across all parts of Göteborg Film Festival," says Mirja Wester, CEO of Göteborg Film Festival.
"As a devoted festival attendee since 2006 — and having had the privilege of working within the organisation for several years — I feel truly honoured and inspired to take on this new responsibility. Göteborg Film Festival is a unique cultural force in the Nordic region, with a growing international reach. I look forward to further develop this position and impact", says Hellqvist.
The festival concludes that Hellqvist assumes the role of Head of Marketing and Communications in June 2025.
