5FM Teams Up With Red Bull To Elevate Streetball Culture Through National And Global Competitions

With over 8 000 participants expected worldwide, the tournament will bounce through more than 20 countries before landing in Dubai for the world finals in November 2025, says 5FM.
Red Bull Half Court champions streetball culture. While teams can advance by securing three wins, Red Bull's 'Own the Court' rule means the team scoring the most cumulative points in each group also earns a golden ticket to the next round, adds the radio station.
According to 5FM, regional qualifiers are set to take place in three major cities:
- Cape Town: Saturday, 12 July
- Durban: Saturday, 26 July, and
- Pretoria: Saturday, 23 August.
The top teams from each region will face off at the South African National Final on Saturday, 13 September, hosted at Wits University in Johannesburg. The national champions — one men's team and one women's team — will go on to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Dubai in November, says 5FM.
5FM concludes that Red Bull Half Court is backed by global partners Fila and Spalding, and led by international athlete Chris Matthews, and the South African stop will be amplified by 5FM as the official event media partner.
