New Airlink–Air Austral Agreement Expands Regional Access Across Africa and the Indian Ocean

Airlink and Air Austral have signed a bilateral Special Prorate Agreement, which came into effect on October 15.

Under the agreement, Airlink offers passengers access to Air Austral’s network of Indian Ocean destinations through connections via Réunion served by its Johannesburg-Réunion flights. These destinations include Mauritius, Mayotte, the Comoros Islands and the Seychelles.

The agreement allows for bookings across both airlines’ networks with the convenience of a single ticket, through-check-in and baggage checked through to its final destination.

“This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in strengthening connectivity between the Indian Ocean islands and the African continent, unlocking new opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. Together, we are building bridges that bring our regions closer and create lasting value for our customers,” said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.
