BOS Ice Tea’s BOS Studio invites Joburg to co-create public art in Rosebank, Aug 28–30

From 28 to 30 August, the BOS Studio will invite passers-by to step off the street and get involved, with paint, music and blank walls replacing the usual advertising fare.

Rather than simply looking at an installation, visitors will be encouraged to add to it. There are no formal classes or workshops, with the space designed for people to pick up a brush and create without worrying about getting it right.

The activation taps into Johannesburg’s reputation as a city where creativity spills into public spaces, from street art and fashion to music, design and entrepreneurship.

“Joburg has always been at its best when it’s creating,” says BOS Ice Tea CEO William Battersby. “We wanted the BOS Studio to provide an unexpected opportunity to share your creativity — a place to switch off, pick up a brush and create without overthinking.”

The resulting artwork will evolve throughout the weekend into a collective portrait of Johannesburg, with contributions from visitors forming part of the final piece.
