Park Hyatt Expands In Africa With Stunning New Hotel Opening In Johannesburg’s Rosebank
Written by: TNW Save to Instapaper
The Park Hyatt Johannesburg, located in Rosebank, has opened its doors, marking the brand’s third destination in Africa.
In a statement, Hyatt Hotels says the design honours the property’s local heritage and architecture through careful restoration of the building’s original features. It was originally constructed in the 1930s as a stately colonial mansion with arches, high ceilings and wide verandas.
The hotel comprises 31 guest rooms and suites, and is structured around a central open-air courtyard featuring jacaranda trees, sculpted gardens and a heated outdoor pool. All rooms have king beds, floor-to-ceiling windows and garden views while selected rooms and suites also include a private patio.
The interiors include plush cotton linens, marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, bespoke Ndebele-patterned throws and curated South African artwork.
Hotel facilities include a soon-to-open spa, a fitness centre, conference and events space for up to 60 guests, restaurant as well as a cocktail and cigar lounge.
