Replacing the YTKO mix show, Club Y will not feature a single DJ but will be rotating the DJs each day from Monday to Saturday, says the station.
Y says that by rotating DJs throughout the week, it's giving listeners a daily mix of styles, sounds and energy to keep them entertained.
Listeners are encouraged by Y to tune into the radio station from Monday to Friday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a new sound every night.
The Club Y lineup comprises:
- Shakes x Les (Duo)
- Thee Buhle
- Ggoldie
- Lesedi The DJ
- Rarri
- Venom
- DJ Pedabotic
- Legendary Crisp
- DJ Zan-D
- Just Mo, and
- DJ Samba.
To kick it all off, Y says it is heading to Soweto for a launch event. The event is set to take place on Satuday, 12 April at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto. The Club Y launch party kicks off at 16:00 and goes on until 03:00.
Y's on-air Content Manager, Phindile Ziqubu, says, "We want to take you to a place where the underground party vibe meets today's energy. Club Y is all about inclusivity, with a rebellious twist that says, 'we do things our way'. It's a space where music, creativity and community all come together. And we're just getting started."
