Adreach Continues Sponsorship Of Growing Alex 10K Community Race
Adreach Impact Brand Solutions has announced its continued support as one of the sponsors of the highly anticipated Alex 10K, taking place on Saturday, 21 March 2026, at the Altrec Sports Complex in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg.
Launched in 2023 by the Run Alex Athletics Club, the Alex 10K has grown from a grassroots community initiative into one of the most dynamic events on the Central Gauteng Athletics calendar. Originally introduced as the “Find Your Fit Run”, an 8km event aimed at promoting health and fitness, it has since evolved into a flagship 10K race with an additional 5km option that includes junior prize categories.
A Race With Purpose Beyond The Finish Line
At its core, the Alex 10K is driven by a dual mission: supporting the operations of the Run Alex Athletics Club and contributing to the Children of Alexandra Learning Initiative. Proceeds from the event help fund the Read Alex Project, a Saturday programme focused on improving literacy and educational outcomes for local youth.
Adreach has played a significant role in the event’s expansion. Beginning as the official media sponsor in 2023, when the race attracted 800 participants, the company stepped up as main sponsor in 2024, rebranding it as the Adreach Alex 10K. This shift helped grow attendance to more than 1,500 runners and spectators.
By 2025, the event had moved to the Altrec Sports Complex and drew over 2,500 attendees. Highlights included a new men’s course record of 32:05 set by Keann Domingo and a winning women’s time of 44:54 by Tshegofatso Vocho.
Building Momentum For 2026
For 2026, organisers and sponsors anticipate a sold-out event with more than 3,000 participants. The race continues to stand out as a platform that brings together competitive running, youth development, community wellness, and local economic upliftment.
Participants will once again have the opportunity to “Explore Alex on Foot,” following a route that highlights Alexandra’s historic streets, places of worship, entertainment venues, and sporting landmarks.
“We are incredibly excited to be one of the sponsors for the Alex 10K for another year,” said Zuza Mbatha, CEO of Adreach Impact Brand Solutions. “This event is more than a race — it’s a powerful force for positive change in Alexandra, blending sport, education, and community empowerment. From our early involvement to now, we’ve seen its remarkable growth and impact. We are proud to support initiatives that uplift township youth and create lasting community value.”
