Cape Town jeweller launches national 2010 competition
Written by: Uwe Koetter Jewellers Save to Instapaper{pp}Always in the forefront when it comes to ingenuity and innovation, Uwe Koetter Jewellers have just announced a 2010 Soccer World Cup competition, inviting any South African to design a ring, a bracelet or a pendant for the winning 2010 Soccer World Cup team. The creator of the winning design will receive tickets to the world cup final.
“As this year is our 40th anniversary year, we felt we wanted to celebrate it by encouraging South Africans from all walks of life, to take an interest in jewellery and jewellery design”, says Johan Louw, Director and Head Designer at Uwe Koetter Jewellers.It is hoped that the winning piece will be able to be presented to the winning team at the World Cup final, but Louw is aware that chances of this are pretty unlikely. “We’re hoping, because this has never been done before, that we will have the opportunity to present them at the event” he says.Criteria for the competition state that the theme of the ring, bracelet or pendant must be an interpretation of South Africa. “The winning players will immediately remember South Africa with one glance at their rings”, continues Louw.Terms and conditions in full are available on their website, www.uwekoetter.co.za.
