Growing the Future of Skateboarding

Officials and judges from six provinces will oversee the 2025 Championships. South Africa has been represented in skateboarding at past Olympic Games, and local clubs continue to prepare athletes with the hope of future participation. South African skaters are also training and competing toward qualification and equalisation events leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Progress in developing the sport remains steady but challenging. Roller Sport South Africa and affiliated clubs work to grow access, create safe spaces for youth, and strengthen community involvement. Through small but consistent steps, skateboarding continues to reach more communities and build a stronger foundation for the sport in South Africa.
