KraalBook is a South African livestock record-keeping, herd management and compliance app for cattle, sheep, goat and pig farmers. Built with direct input from South African farmers and an auction sale yard, it works offline in the field and syncs when signal returns, and also runs as a web portal so the farm office can work on a computer. Farmers register their animals and record events as they happen — births, vaccinations, treatments, movements and sales — and produce the documents they need, including vaccination registers, proof of vaccination and §6/§8 removal certificates. Farmers register their animals and record events as they happen — births, vaccinations, treatments, weights, movements, pregnancies, deaths and sales — using a mobile app that works offline in the field and syncs when signal returns. The same records are available through a web portal, so the farm office can work on a computer.
From those records the platform produces the documents farmers need: vaccination registers and proof of vaccination, animal fact sheets, Section 6 and 8 removal certificates for moving and selling stock, auction consignment documents, and a twelve-month audit and compliance pack.
