Regent Business School Excels in HealthXcel Innovation Challenge, Paving the Way for Transformative Healthcare Solutions

The two-day events brought together delegates, industry experts, and thought leaders for an immersive experience aimed at driving innovation in healthcare.
The HealthXcel Innovation Challenge provided a platform for dynamic engagement, creative exercises, and insightful talks, fostering an environment for transformative healthcare innovation. Dr Sean Armstrong, Fundile Gebremedhin, and Dr Tshegofatso Maimela, among other industry leaders, delivered talks on the significance of innovation in healthcare, inspiring participants to identify and address critical pain points in the industry.
The event kicked off with a series of activities, including the Design Challenge, setting the stage for teams to explore innovative ideas. Rowen Govender, RBS Academic Manager - School of Healthcare Management, expressed enthusiasm about the extended duration of the challenge, stating, “We’re excited to announce the extended duration of the challenge, allowing participants to delve deeper into their ideas. Stay tuned for future announcements as we plan to host more innovation challenges, offering students and healthcare enthusiasts the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare through collaborative and innovative solutions.”
The extended challenge, will cover crucial aspects of the innovation process, including Design Thinking and Empathy, Validation, Stress Testing Ideas, Revenue and Compliance, Storyboarding, and Pitching. The goal is to empower participants to go beyond ideation and refine their concepts, creating tangible solutions for the healthcare industry.
HealthXcel Unleashes Healthcare Revolution
The HealthXcel MBA Innovation Challenge aims to bridge the gap between healthcare and technology, empowering participants to revolutionise patient care and shape the future of the industry. The event combines strategic thinking, creative solutions, and technological prowess to address pressing healthcare challenges.

It commenced with prototyping and rapid testing, immersing participants in hands-on activities to swiftly prototype and test their ideas. This was followed by iteration and refinement, a pivotal phase during which concepts underwent refinement and improvement based on feedback and insights garnered in the initial stages. Subsequently, participants delved into pitch preparation and storytelling, honing the skills necessary to effectively communicate and present their groundbreaking solutions. The journey culminated in the Solution Showcase and Awards, providing a platform for participants to present their meticulously refined solutions and receive well-deserved recognition and celebration for their outstanding contributions.
Participation in the HealthXcel MBA Innovation Challenge provided numerous benefits.
