Johannesburg, South Africa, XX March 2025 – Dibber International Preschools is proud to announce that Kelly Eyre, its Quality and Pedagogical Lead, featured as a speaker at the Advancing Early Childhood Development: Inclusivity & Wellness Conference (AECD25), which took place on March 13-14, 2025, at the Capital Empire Hotel in Sandton.
Kelly presented “Beyond the Buzzword: Real Inclusion in ECD for Children & Educators,” bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to the discussion. As an autistic educator and a parent of a child on the spectrum, she offers a unique and deeply personal perspective on inclusivity in early learning environments.
With a background in counselling psychology, a PGCE in the foundation phase, and a certificate in sports psychology, Kelly has dedicated her career to ensuring that all children, regardless of ability, have access to meaningful and enriching early childhood education.
At AECD25, she explored what true inclusion should look like in ECD spaces, sharing first-hand insights on what works (and what doesn’t) when creating equitable, supportive, and accessible learning environments for children and educators alike.
Driving the inclusion conversation forward
“Inclusion in early childhood education isn’t just about children,” says Kelly. “It’s also about empowering the educators and caregivers who support them. At AECD25, I shared practical strategies to help schools, parents, and policymakers foster environments that truly embrace diversity and neurodiversity.”
The AECD25 Conference is a premier event in the early childhood development (ECD) sector, focusing on inclusive education, wellness, and policy developments in South Africa. This year’s theme aligns perfectly with Dibber’s mission of ensuring that every child receives quality early learning experiences in a nurturing, inclusive setting.
