Manyike Nicolas is the founder & CEO of Tale PR & Communications, Publicist, Artist Manager and an entrepreneur. Born and raised in Mkhuhlu, Bushbuckridge, in Mpumalanga. He matriculated from Makhosana Manzini High School in 2011 and was accepted to study Business management at Sedibeng College Vanderbijlpark, but had to abandon his studies because of a lack of finances.
In 2013 he relocated to the “city of gold and honey” as he describes Johannesburg, to pursue his dream of becoming PR Guru and a businessman.
Determined to make something of his life, he was hired by one of the South African biggest bank, After a year resigned to pursue his career in the entertainment business," he said.
“I’ve always been taken by the idea of owning businesses of my own, not only to create jobs for others but to also leave a legacy for the next generation”,
Being a publicist its in my blood, I was doing PR before I knew there's so called PR, I am a storyteller by nature.
PR is the Persuasion Business. You are trying to convince an audience, inside your building or town, and outside your usual sphere of influence, to promote an idea, a product, support position, or recognize accomplishments. We work extremely hard to build mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics.
PR can be used to protect, enhance or build reputations through the media, social media, or self-produced communications.
I constantly have to explain that we don’t buy advertisements, we don’t order journalists to write stories for our clients, we don’t produce cute radio jingles. Yes, we try to promote our clients, our products or ourselves. But unlike advertisers, we persuade our external or internal audiences via unpaid or earned methods. Whether it’s the traditional media, social media or speaking engagements, we communicate with our audiences through trusted, not paid, sources.
At the age of 24 he's one of the youngest people to own a successful and reputable media company, growing at a rapid pace. The young PR Guru is a passionate storyteller and brand strategist with over 4 years of experience working with major media houses and has successfully launched numerous campaigns, from start-up companies, to well established businesse companies. His the man behind brands like Nkhukhu-Box local restaurant, Public figure Pastor Enoch F Phiri, Trade4Africa, Simz D Mandla, Thembokuhle Shongwe, to mention few.
The unemployment rate grows dramastically, he encourages other young people to be entrepreneurs and surround themselves with like-minded and positive people.
“No matter who you are, where you come from, or what you have achieved, a good mentor is an invaluable asset in business, I was lucky enough to be mentored by Simphiwe Majola and Ngcebo Mdima.
“Chasing that dream came with multiple challenges; came with nothing and knew no one, remember with my business partner we had to make use of the Ekhaya shelter for the homeless in Johannesburg.”
A person’s upbringing and where they come from do not determine one’s capabilities or where they will end up in life. One learns a lot more from making mistakes than not doing anything at all. We can use those mistakes as stepping stones to get our desired goals. Soon to launch a record label.
