Statement on the violence against other Africans in South Africa
Written by: Save to InstapaperThe Africa Board for Coaching, Consulting & Coaching Psychology (ABCCCP) would like to express its disappointment at the violence currently happening in South Africa against other Africans.
As a body serving across the continent, with the intent of supporting the professional growth of Coaches, Consultants and Coaching Psychologists, our responsibility is towards all Africans. We truly believe Africa has a bright future ahead and we also believe Africa belongs to all who live in it.
We therefore urge all leaders, especially in all levels of government to take up their leadership role to address their communities and discourage this violence in empathic and unequivocal terms. We also urge everyone to play their role in educating communities, their friends and their children about the history of Africa and the opportunity that it presents to the world.
Finally, we would like to extend our condolences to families across the continent who have lost family members as a result of this senseless act of violence. May you eventually find comfort. We join the rest of the sensible voices that proclaim #SayNoToXenophobia!
