Key employment law updates from 2017 & the employer's role in combatting corruption
Written by: Teresa Settas Save to InstapaperEmployers need to be aware of their roles and responsibilities in respect of their employees. The compliance landscape can change quickly and sometimes unexpectedly.To keep you abreast of some of the key employment law developments of 2017 we will be hosting a client seminar dealing with:
- the treatment of employees when a business is transferred (section 197 of the Labour Relations Act);
- strike law and, in particular, the NEDLAC Accord; and
- mitigating the risk associated with atypical employment.
Also in response to recent events and uncovering of widespread corruption we will look at the employer's role in combating corruption, focusing on:
- an employer's duty to its employees (and others) regarding protected disclosures and its duties with regards to the Prevention of Organised Crime Act; and
- practical steps employers can take when conducting internal investigations and a case study of the proper management of irregular practices.
We look forward to hosting you for this interactive discussion.
