On Friday 24 August 2018, the DA Youth Leader, Luyolo Mphithi, will lead a picket and deliver a memorandum to the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) offices in Newtown, calling on the NYDA to cut corruption and create sufficient job growth for the youth.
The DA Youth Leader will be joined by DA Youth Gauteng Provincial Chairperson,Pogiso Mthimunye, DA Youth Johannesburg Regional Chairperson, Lincoln Machaba, DA Youth Spokesperson, Dikeledi Selowa, DA Member of the Oversight Committee on the Premier’s Office and Legislature (OCPOL) Jack Bloom MPL and DA Youth provincial chairpersons from other provinces.
The corruption in the NYDA has halted progress which the agency should have made towards eradicating youth unemployment. We see how corruption steals jobs when we compare the NYDA with DA-led local governments which have delivered 33 163 jobs.
The NYDA has failed in its mandate and has not created sufficient job growth for the youth.
