DA Provincial Congress the first step to a new beginning for Gauteng
Written by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperOn Saturday 18 November 2017, the DA in Gauteng will host its Provincial Congress at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. Delegates will gather to cast their votes and elect the leadership that will take the DA in Gauteng to the polls in 2019. This event marks the first step towards the 2019 campaign, where the DA aims to win Gauteng.
Since taking office, the DA-led administrations in Tshwane and Joburg have been hard at work to bring about real change and the people are seeing the difference. This progress marks the vision that the DA has for Gauteng as a whole.
In the City of Joburg, work has begun to bring water, electricity, sanitation and roads to 51 informal settlements and clinics now have extended hours. More than 3 900 residents have received title deeds and the DA-led administration is cracking down on drug dealers. Corruption of close to R16 billion has also already been unearthed.
In the City of Tshwane, we are also fighting the ANC’s legacy of corruption by cancelling dodgy contracts worth billions. The DA-led administration is committed to providing decent sanitation to all informal settlements and is attracting billions in investment that will enable job-creation. More than 23 000 EPWP job opportunities are being created and more than 2 000 title deeds have already been delivered.
The elective congress on 18 November is the first step towards making the DA’s delivery record a reality for people all over Gauteng and not just in the metros that are currently under DA-led administration. The ANC is too corrupt to care about the needs of the people. The DA is ready to bring about total to the corrupt system that the ANC has built to feed itself.
This congress is the first step to a new beginning in Gauteng.
The accreditation process is currently underway, please contact the Gauteng Communications Manager for any queries.
