Berco Express teams up with Blue Bulls for Charity
Written by: Fiona RIchardson Save to InstapaperLocal courier company, Berco Express, joined forces with the Blue Bulls Company to collect clothing and bedding for the charity, Clothing4Children.
A simulated rugby field at Loftus Versfeld was filled to capacity on Sunday 18 September 2011, with bags of clothing and bedding collected by Clothing4Children from local schools, players, fans, sponsors and suite owners in the Pretoria region.
In the week building up to the final day of donations more than 55 000 bags had been brought to the stadium. The estimated worth of the bags is over R 200 million.
Berco Express was involved in collecting and distributing the bags. “We are in the service business and we are thrilled to be involved in a charity such as Clothing4Children that is doing such a wonderful job in helping the local community,” explains Chris Botha, Branch Manager at Berco Express Pretoria. “We wanted to make a positive contribution to our local community by providing our vehicles on the day as well as asking our staff to volunteer their services.”
