This year, in celebration of Champagne Day and the 150th anniversary of the iconic Moët & Chandon Impérial, the House’s flagship champagne, Moët & Chandon winemaker Amine Ghanem will be visiting South Africa for the first time. Amine will be making appearances at two of Tsogo Sun Hotels’ vibrant nightspots on the evening of #ChampagneDay. “Champagne Day is celebrated worldwide on 18 October and we’re extremely proud that Moët & Chandon have chosen to share this momentous 150-year milestone with Tsogo Sun Hotel. Indeed, the synergy between Moët & Chandon and Tsogo Sun has seen the hotels in this celebrated portfolio become a destination for champagne lovers in South Africa, drawn by the exceptional Moët & Chandon champagne offering.
The two Tsogo Sun Hotels #ChampagneDay events on Friday 18 October are in Johannesburg, on the spectacular Sandton Sun San Deck and at Southern Sun Hyde Park’s vibey, both from 4pm to 10pm. The public will have the opportunity to meet Amine Ghamen, who will be hosting a #MoetMoment from 17h30 to 18h30 at Sandton Sun’s San Deck and from 19h30 to 20h30 on the deck at Southern Sun Hyde Park, where DJ Fresh will add his unique blend of sounds to the mix from 21h00.
Patrick Leslie, Moët Hennessy Champagne Portfolio Manager, commented, “Our partnership with Tsogo Sun Hotels launched Champagne Day in South Africa several years ago, and we are delighted to be sharing Moët & Chandon Impérial’s 150th anniversary with the public at Tsogo Sun Hotels’ vibrant destinations this year. Surely there are few moments more memorable for Moët & Chandon champagne fans than a glass of their favourite cuvée with the man ultimately responsible for their creation?”
