Top SA Musicians pay tribute: The Eric Clapton "Slowhand" Tribute Show Eric Clapton fans are in for a treat! The Rustic Theatre, Main Road, Lonehill, Johannesburg, March 20th, 2009 - While the world waits for a change in the financial crisis, SA musicians continue to ply their trade bringing music to troubled South Africans! "Music can change the world because it can change people" Bono Musicians just like every other professional in South Africa are having to adapt to the struggling economy that affects all of us.

Brilliant local singer/songwriter Peter Hoven decided to Produce a tribute to his idol Eric Clapton In 2008 the Eric Clapton "Slowhand" Tribute Show was born. Peter Hoven wanted to produce a world class production that could stand up to the best. So he brought in the best to work with him. "Quote" from Kobus Prinsloo – Freelance Reporter - 09/04/08 “It takes a pro to cover a pro.” “It doesn’t usually work like this, or it hasn’t, up until last night. When he did it.” “Peter Hoven is a superb musician and songwriter, with a voice that can adapt to many styles. However, when I heard he was doing Eric Clapton I never expected to hear Clapton in his voice, but its there..” “Henry Steel never looks or sounds like a guitarist that’s trying to prove he’s shithot enough to be able to do Clapton at will. He does it in such a way that you appreciate the music Clapton made, that you enjoy the gift of seeing what it looks like when his songs happen on a guitar in real life. Steel is simply brilliant, without stealing the show or even showing interest in stealing it.” “The Eric Clapton “Slowhand” Tribute is proof that there are people who can do great things, just because they want to. Peter Hoven just did it, without waiting for someone to bestow money and blessings upon him. He joined up with the right people to assist, became a delivery, talent, procurement and band manager, a storyteller, a producer, a project manager. A professional” Musicians In the band include: Peter Hoven – Acoustic/Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals Henry Steel – Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals Natalie Chapman – Narration/Vocals Dave Askes - Bass/Backing Vocals Andy Mauritz - Drums The Eric Clapton “Slowhand” Tribute Show will take you on a journey of Clapton’s career, his music, personal struggles and his legacy.
