Tokzen to launch CD at FNB Stadium
Written by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperJohannesburg – Popular House DJ – Tokzen – is set to launch his much anticipated Mmthi’s Essential Selection Volume 7 at an event that will go down in history as the Biggest CD Launch in the World at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 14 May 2016, 2pm – 12 midnight.
Tokzen , whose real name is Lloyd Ncuthe makes a serious come back after a long break from the music scene, yet his mixes have remained indelible in his followers minds and hearts who have collected his music from the first volume to the sixth. His journey continues, and he will take to the stage to play a three hour set from 9pm to 12pm on Saturday, 14 May, this will give the audience a nostalgic tour of his career, profiling the beginning through to the present day.
The first one hour set will take the revelers back to DJ Tokzen’s DJying skills and remind them why he is such a prolific spinner. “ This is a strictly vinyl set. Here I will entertain the music lovers with the latest deep house and some old school beats.”
The second set will showcase Tokzen’s humble beginnings, where it all began with Mmthi’s Essential Selection CD Launch Celebrations. It all began in the heart of Soweto, Mapetla Park, where thousands of House Music lovers used to converge at the annual DJ Tokzen launches. His compilations were a work of collaborated efforts with major international producers, thus introducing the culture to a great and receptive house loving nation. In this set he selects some very popular tracks from his compilations 1 – 6.
“Here I will play the best of Mmthi’s 1-6, featuring Harrison Crump, Rock Star by myself featuring King Ayoba and Ntho Tsa Ka featuring Gwaiza,” said Tokzen.
In the third hour, Tokzen will mesmerize the audience with his new sounds from The Journey Continues Mmthi’s 7, featuring Alaska, Poul B, Dr Kyle, Ndumiso, Nyovane, Pholoso, Dindi and Sabza and a cherrie on top is that for this set all dance moves will be choreographed by Somizi (Somgaga).
“This will go down in history as the biggest CD launch in the world. I have invited DJ Ganyani, Bucie and Emtee to feature on the stage to give the attendees an experience never to be forgotten. The CD launch of this caliber has never been done before. Now is the time for all the house music lovers and those who believe in Mmthi’s Essential Selection to come out in their big numbers to show some love and support as the journey continues, “ said Tokzen, the producer of the popular Something About You.
