The haunted forest® is back with Zombies
Submitted by: Tale Spin MediaThe Haunted Forest®, a flagship Halloween event, will take place this weekend for the fifth time while adhering to all Covid-19 protocols to offer visitors a wicked leap into the world of horror and fright.Things will be done differently this year when The Haunted Forest® Zombie Land takes place on 30 and 31 October at the Riversands Farm Village in Johannesburg.
The organisers are calling on visitors to work with them as they deliver The Haunted Forest® 2020 – Zombie Land in a different format. The challenges facing the organisers are the limitations on capacity, which means only 500 guests are allowed at a time. To overcome this challenge, the main field will host the big screen and most scenes in a horse shoe format with more games and entertainment, while the forest will host the scare-factor of Zombie Land, instead of the Haunted House.
The Halloween Festival is part of the Picnics in the Park series and offers a forest, picnic area with big screen, make-up lounge and scare area. The fun will start on Friday, 30 October at 19:00 and continue until 23:00, with a movie, games and a visit to Zombie Land in the Forest at 20:00. On Saturday three sessions will be held with 500 guests each. Two family-friendly sessions aimed at children under 12 will be held and offer a movie, Trick or Treat and games, from 10:00 to 14:00 and then again from 15:00 to 19:30. The third session will not be suitable for children under 12 and will include a movie, games and a visit to Zombie Land in the Forest at 20:00.
Visitors can bring one cooler box of food, but no drinks of any kind. Food will be available as well. They are encouraged to dress up in scary costumes and the best dressed will receive prizes. Masks are compulsory.Temperature checks will be done on arrival and social distancing will be observed. The picnic area will be laid out to ensure people are seated two metres form the next group. Hand sanitizing stations will be positioned throughout the event area.
