Our picnic area is set in the most tranquil area of the farm surrounding our natural wetlands, where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine. Bring your picnic basket, chairs, tables, umbrellas, picnic blankets and enjoy a day of fun in the outdoors! Watch the ducks waddle their way around or bring a soccer ball, set up a volley ball net or a cricket pitch and challenge your family to a game. You are welcome to bring your bicycles and explore our farm.
Ride our fun mountain bike routes on the farm or just put on your walking shoes and join our fun walking trails. Get detailed maps from The Cycle Hub. Other activities include: 9-hole putt-putt course at R5 per game or Zak Tractor Cart Rides R10 per person. For those that don't want to pack a picnic basket, you can purchase light meals and tuck shop style refreshment and snacks from the Coffee Shop or Tea Garden. Sit and enjoy a nice cup of tea, cake or a light meal or order a take-away and sit or picnic under the trees. Braaing is also allowed. Bring your own braai OR drum braai's and gazebos are available for hire from our farm office.
Children can feed our farmyard animals, visit our bird aviary or visit our exotic petshop and view or purchase the various snakes, reptiles and fish. Veggie packs - R10 a bag or Pony rides R10 available from the pet shop. Have your Childrens Party, Corporate or Social Functions at Rietvlei Farm. We have various options to choose from: Butterfly conference hall, Five picnic Lapas and Camp Candy. If you love gardening, you will enjoy our Nursery that is filled with various plants, trees, flowers and garden utensils and accessories. And if you need a new thatch for your garden or pool area, visit our thatching show lapas. Edu-kidz offers childrens holiday programmes and aftercare facilities to keep you children busy with fun activities in the outdoors.
Our Wellness Centre offers pampering, healing and rejuvenating body and mind treatments various Beauty Salon, Spa, Physio and Colour Therapy treatments tailored to suit your needs. Entrance Fee to picnic area: R15 (Under 12 Years) R25 (12 years and older) Entrance to the picnic area is R30 per vehicle or you can park your vehicle at the entrance at no charge.
